When the refrigerator side of a Sub-Zero warms up and the freezer next to it holds, the fault is rarely a shared one. On the classic built-in combination models each compartment has its own compressor and evaporator, so a working freezer neither clears the refrigerator side nor accuses it. What we usually find is air that has stopped moving: a fan motor near the end of its life, or frost grown thick because a door was left resting against a shelf edge.
